A Section 8 non-profit dedicated to empowering communities, nurturing the vulnerable, and building a compassionate India.
Sansthapan Social Services Foundation was incorporated on 28th February 2026 under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013 and registered with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India.
Founded on the belief that every individual — regardless of age, ability, or circumstance — deserves dignity, opportunity, and care. We bring together passionate changemakers to deliver impactful social programs across multiple domains.
We operate as a truly non-profit entity: all income and property are applied solely towards the promotion of our objects, with no dividend, bonus, or profit transferred to any member.
Long before Sansthapan Social Services Foundation was formally incorporated, its roots were already deep — in years of grassroots action, quiet community work, and the conviction that change begins small.
Our journey into social work began in 2013 with a skill development initiative focused on creating sustainable livelihoods. Starting in retail and hospitality, we progressively expanded into the LED bulb and LED TV trades.
Over the years, this initiative facilitated over 600 placements across India. We also extended training to jail inmates in Dimapur, Nagaland, equipping them with skills in LED bulb and TV manufacture and repair — giving incarcerated individuals a genuine path forward.
The COVID-19 pandemic ultimately forced the closure of these programmes, but the spirit of livelihood creation remains central to our mission.
In 2020, a close-knit group of us formalised our social work under the banner "Spreading Smiles." Our work centred on those most often overlooked — children in orphanages, the elderly in old age homes, and differently-abled individuals — primarily across Guwahati, Assam, and Kolkata.
We distributed blankets, food, and essential supplies to children and families across many locations, grounded in the belief that small acts of care ripple outward in ways we cannot always measure.
To fund the social work of Spreading Smiles, we established small production units that ran from 2020 to 2023. These included organic handmade soaps, and a spice powder range covering 9 varieties — sold at a modest margin to remain accessible to everyday buyers.
We also operated a garments micro-enterprise: sourcing T-shirts from Tirupur, Tamil Nadu, getting them printed in Kolkata, and selling them online. Every rupee of surplus flowed back directly into our community programmes.
These ventures are currently on pause — but not permanently closed. They remain part of our long-term vision for self-sustaining social enterprise.
In February 2026, we took our most significant step yet: incorporating Sansthapan Social Services Foundation as a Section 8 non-profit under the Companies Act, 2013. What began as grassroots community action now has a formal institutional structure — with accountability, transparency, and scale.
Sansthapan is not a new beginning. It is the natural evolution of everything Spreading Smiles stood for — and the vehicle through which those values will reach further, and last longer.
From skill placements in 2013 to community kitchens to a Section 8 foundation in 2026 — our work has always been driven by people, not paperwork. Spreading Smiles lives on in everything Sansthapan does.
To promote, support, and undertake social welfare initiatives for the benefit of individuals, youth, women, elderly, and marginalised communities — enabling sustainable livelihoods, quality education, healthcare, and dignity — without the motive of profit.
A compassionate society where every child receives education, every woman is empowered, every elderly person is cared for, and every marginalised individual has access to opportunity — a society where no one is left behind.
We envision expanding our reach pan-India, building partner networks, and creating self-sustaining community models that outlast our direct involvement.
As registered in our Memorandum of Association (Form INC-13), our five core objects are:
Training, skill development, incubation support, mentoring, workshops, and capacity-building for individuals, youth, women, and marginalised communities to enable sustainable livelihood generation.
Education, rehabilitation, therapy, healthcare support, vocational training, counselling, and overall well-being of physically handicapped, differently abled, and autistic children.
Relief, care, protection, and welfare of elderly persons — establishing old age homes, day-care centres, healthcare programs, counselling, food and shelter programs.
Quizzes, game shows, cookery shows, and vocational training workshops to promote accessible and engaging learning for all age groups.
Effective upliftment of women and children who are in need of care and protection through targeted social development programs.
All profits, income, and property of the Foundation are applied solely for the promotion of our objects. No portion is paid to any member as dividend, bonus, or profit. Our accounts are open to inspection of members and are audited annually by a qualified auditor, as required by the Companies Act, 2013.
